Elaine Gates Recap

I learned a lot from Elaine Gates yesterday. I main thing that I learned was to portrait someone who wants to get their photo taken. If you pick someone that doesn't like getting their picture taken, it will show through in the pictures.
I also learned that setting is important. Whether you put the person somewhere they are comfortable or somewhere they are uncomfortable, it will shine through and make the photo more interesting.
Looking from flaws in the details is very important, too. Bra straps or pieces of trash could ruin a picture. Saying that you will fix it in photoshop later is BAD.
This goes for those details, and also things like white balance, aperture and frame.
The final thing that I learned, and that I will definitely do, is to take a stepstool along in order to be able to shoot from above.
